Leoni Swart awarded Swiss 3RCC project grant

NCCR AntiResist member Leoni Swart from the Jenal Lab has been awarded a highly competitive research grant from Swiss 3RCC.

The grant is one of the Swiss 3RCC project grants, and is worth CHF 400’000. Leoni will be using the grant to further her work on “Human Tissue Models as Novel Preclinical Tools in Antimicrobial Development as a means to reduce/replace animal experiments“.

The Swiss 3R Project Grant scheme supports innovative research that advances the replacement, reduction, and refinement of animal use in scientific procedures. This competitive grant scheme follows a two-stage application process and welcomes proposals across all areas of 3Rs research, for a duration of 2-4 years.

Speaking of the award, Leoni says “This award marks an important step toward my scientific independence and represents a major milestone in my career.”

We warmly congratulate Leoni for this award and look forward to the results of her work in this important area.
